1.Who is Robert Bloch?
Robert Albert Bloch was an American fiction writer, primarily of crime, horror, fantasy and science fiction, from Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He is best known as the author of Psycho, the basis for the film of the same name by Alfred Hitchcock. His prolific writing career, which included novels and short stories as well as screenplays and radio dramas, spanned more than four decades.
2.Who is Juliette Robert?
Juliette Robert was born on August 13, 1873, in La Rochelle, France. She was the only child of Jean-Baptiste Robert and his wife, Antoinette Gaulard.
Jean-Baptiste Robert was a successful ship-owner and merchant, and the family was moderately wealthy. Juliette grew up in a comfortable home with servants to take care of her needs.
As a young girl, Juliette was very close to her father and often went with him on business trips. She developed a love of travel and adventure from these early experiences.
In 1887, when Juliette was 14 years old, her father died suddenly of a heart attack. Juliette’s mother became a recluse after her husband’s death, and she died just four years later.
Orphaned at the age of 18, Juliette inherited her father’s shipping business. She successfully ran the business for several years, but eventually sold it and used the money to finance her own adventures.
Over the next few years, Juliette traveled extensively throughout Europe and Asia. She eventually made her way to America, where she settled in New York City.
It was in New York that Juliette met Robert Bloch, a young writer who would become one of the most important figures in her life.
3.What is the story about?
The story is about a doll that comes to life and starts killing people.
4.What is the meaning behind the story?
The story is about a young girl named Juliette Robert who is given a toy by her father. The toy is a replica of a famous French writer and poet, Paul Verlaine. Verlaine was known for his tempestuous relationship with fellow poet Arthur Rimbaud. The toy is meant to represent this relationship, and the conflicting emotions that come with it.
5.How does the story end?
The story ends with Juliette Robert finding the toy that she wanted.
6.What are the characters like?
The characters are flat and seem like one-dimensional cardboard cutouts.
7.How does the story make you feel?
The story makes me feel very good. It is a love story with a happy ending, and I like the way the author writes.
8.What themes are present in the story?
Themes are the central ideas in a story. They are often used to teach a lesson or moral. In the case of “A Toy for Juliette,” some of the themes present are love, loss, and grief.
9.What did you like/dislike about the story?
I found the story to be very enjoyable. I liked the way it was written and the way the story flowed. I didn’t like the ending, however. I felt it was a bit abrupt and didn’t really wrap up the story well.
Would you recommend this story to others?
I would recommend this story to others because it is a great example of how Bloch uses humor to lighten up what could otherwise be a very dark story. Bloch also does a great job of making the reader care about the characters and their situation.
